1881 (June 8): Registered printed matter wrapper from San Dona di Piave to Venezia, bearing 1866 Torino printing 30 c. 'bruno castano' and 40 c. 'rosa carminio', tied by perfect barred '2662' numeral obliterator and Austrian-type RACCOMANDATA handstamp with matching "S. DONA DI PIAVE" despatch cds and two additional strikes of RACCOMANDATO handstamp alongside. Reverse with VENEZIA arrival (June 10) cds. Wrapper shortened at left and right, nevertheless a fresh franking of utmost attractiveness showing the elusive usage of the Austrian registration handstamp. The franking pays correctly the double manuscript rate with twice 20 c. for the postage and 30 c. registration fee. Signed G.
