    1886/96: High Values, £ 7 rosine & black, wmk. V over Crown sideways, perf. 12½, a superb unused example of excellent centering and glorious colour, with superb large part og. Geoff Kellow records just two examples in unused condition outside the Royal Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this being the sole example with original gum. A wonderful stamp in the foremost quality and a great rarity of both Australian and British Commonwealth philately. Signed Peter Holcombe Gi = £ 12'000.

    1901: Definitive Issues without and with 'Postage', the set of 18 stamps applied to small pieces, with values from ½ d. to 5 s., all cancelled on departure for the UPU in Berne with Melbourne c.t.o. datestamps. Upon receipt in Natal each stamp was again struck with diagonal "SPECIMEN." handstamp (Samuel type NA2) in violet. A fine and very scarce assembly and unique thus.

Nemesis and Galle' franked by India 1856 4 a. grey-black tied by Calcutta duplex (Feb 8) with framed INDIA PAID in red below. Transhipped in error in Melbourne with red cds on reverse (March 13) and struck with rare framed 'MIS-SENT TO / MELBOURNE; VICTORIA' handstamp in red. Sent on with Brisbane (March 23), Rockhampton (April 6) and Marlborough arrival cds (April 11) in black.
